ABOUT LE MONTEL

Architect and pater familias Herman Hoff bought this house after it was practically abandoned in the early 2000's he has spent 20 years worth of holidays fixing up the structure and it has been serving us as a private retreat ever since for family holidays and events with friends.

In the past years we have been opening more and more to the public as a place to unwind and follow a course.

 

We have among others offered painting courses, yoga retreats, and culinary/wine weeks.

 

The house is situated in a small hamlet called "Le Montel" near "Saint alyre d'Arlanc" in the auvergne which is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails through pine forest and other quaint agricultural villages(hamlets) on all sides. Staying at Le Montel you will find yourself completely immersed in nature going back in time to a more simple kind of living.

During our retreats shared meals and beautiful nutritious food are very important to us. You will always find Home Cooked food made with love and expertise at Le Montel. We try to always have freshly home baked sourdough bread available for our guests.

 

When you are not active in one of the activities offered you can easily amuse yourself by going hiking, visiting a vide grenier(french flea market)  or by driving to one of the nearby lakes for a swim and some sunbathing.
